Ordinary Today

Today we didn't do anything special. In the morning we went for a walk, and then Monika went to Wildcare. When she came home we ate ravioli, and then we sat outside for most of the day. In the evening, Jennifer made dinner for me and it was delicious. I ate potatoes, pork chops and corn. yummy!

After dinner I went for a walk again, and then I played inside with Kitty and Jennifer.

Fun

Today Monika tried to take me to the dog park, but I didn't like it all because there were too many big dogs. So instead we went to the pet store (where all the little dogs go for fun). We met another shih tzu who was just as big as I am! He was really fun and I wanted to play with him. At the pet store Monika bought me new organic dog food and bones. They are so cool!

After hanging out at the pet store for a while, we went home and Monika cleaned up the house. This was no fun for me, because I hate the vacuum cleaner.

For dinner Monika made chicken with rice and water chestnuts, but I wouldn't eat the water chestnuts. I picked them all out and spit them out on the floor. After dinner I was ready for bed, but Monika and Jennifer wanted to play with me. Jennifer went to Old Navy and bought me a new squeaky toy, and so I played with them for a long time. I also tried to play with Kitty, but she was not interested. I tried barking at her, and she just went to sleep; she is no fun at all! After playing for an hour I was exhausted. I crawled into Monika's bed and I'm ready for sleep.

Dog Food

Yesterday Monika came home really late, and both Kitty and I really wanted to play. We both were playing with the dog food and chasing it around the house. Now the entire living room floor is covered in dog food. It is such a mess!

This morning Monika woke up late, so instead of going to her first class, she took me for a really long walk. I'm getting really good at walking without my leash, and I always listen to Monika.

After going to her last two classes, Monika came home and took Kitty and me outside to play. It was such a gorgeous day! Kitty climbed up all of the trees, and ran all over the place. I found another cat outside and chased him into a water pipe. It was so much fun. Every time he tried to come out of the pipe I would run over and bark at him. Monika thought this was really mean, so she tied me up to the bench so that I wouldn't chase the cat anymore.

After the cat got out of the pipe, Monika let me run around with Kitty again. We stayed outside for an hour while Monika graded papers. It was awesome. When Jennifer came home she took me for a walk again. Now we are ordering pizza for dinner.

All Alone

Today I was at home by myself almost all day. At 3 Jennifer came home to feed me and take me for a walk. Monika came home at 8 and me had even more dinner. I wasn't in a very good mood and I didn't want to walk with Monika. We came inside and Kitty was really annoying. She kept jumping on me and bothering me because she wanted to play. I was not interested at all, and so I bit her on the ear. She was not happy about that and went and ran away to hide under Monika's bed. I sat on the couch with Monika while she watched TV with Jennifer. But when Kitty came back to the living room, I went to sleep in Monika's bed.

Thunderstorm

Today Monika had to stay on campus all day, so Kitty and I stayed with Jennifer. She was really nice to us and let us follow her around all day. She tried to take me for a walk but it was thundering and I was really scared. I stood by the cars and wanted her to let me sit in the car. She thought this was very funny. Since I wouldn't walk outside,she brought me inside and sat with me in her room and tried to make me feel better.

When Monika came home I was so happy to see her. I played with her, and I ate dinner again with her. She also gave me a bath, because I smelled really bad. Now I'm all nice and clean.

Food

Monika was gone all day today and I was super bored. Monika's roommate didn't want to play with me, so I just slept while she watched TV. Kitty pretty much slept the whole day too. Monika is making dinner now, and both Kitty and I are starving. We sit at her feet in the kitchen and encourage her to cook faster.

After dinner we will probably go for a walk and play a little bit before Monika has to start studying...

Being Annoying

This morning after I went for my walk, Monika left me alone with Kitty while she went to take care of her other animals. We were only alone for 2 hours, but we got so bored. As soon as Monika came home we demanded her full attention. Both Kitty and I tried to run out the front door every time Monika opened it. Kitty was bad and ran all the way down the stairs as fast as she could. I'm a little smarter, so I knew not to run too far away.

Monika tried to study when she came home, but we wouldn't let her. I barked and whined, and Kitty meowed until she finally took us outside to play. Monika sat on the bench and tried to read while Kitty and I ran all over the yard. I've been spoiled by my family in South Bend, and I've forgotten how to listen to Monika. Every time someone came outside to walk their puppies, Kitty and I ran over to say "hi". After half an hour of chasing Kitty around outside, I decided to be good and sit by Monika while she studied. Kitty however decided to go exploring. She climbed up all the way to the top of all the trees. She even climbed a pine tree and got covered in sap! Monika was not too happy with her. Now she is all sticky and dirty, but she won't let Monika wash her. Stupid Kitty.

After an hour of sitting outside we came home and demanded food. I was so hungry that I couldn't wait for dinner to be ready. I whined and whined and whined while Monika was cooking my food. Kitty also meowed the whole time and kept jumping up on the counter and stove where Monika was cooking. I had a mountain of noodles, broccoli, and sausage for dinner, and Kitty had an entire can of cat food. We were both very hungry after all the running we did outside.

After dinner, Monika had to leave again, but her roommate was home to play with us. In the evening when Monika came home we went for a walk again, and then we played inside with my soccer ball. Now I still want to play, but Monika says she really needs to study. Oh well, maybe I will go to bed and wait until morning to play again.

Back in Bloomington

Well I'm finally back in Bloomington with Monika. The drive was really long and boring, so I slept most of the way. We stopped twice for coffee and I got to run around a little bit. When we parked in the apartment lot I got really excited, because I knew we were home. I jumped out of the car and ran straight up the stairs to the apartment. Kitty was sleeping when I came home, and it took me a while to find her. I jumped up on the futon to say hello to her, but she wasn't too happy to see me. She ran away and hid in a bucket. Then every time I walked by she tried to jump on me. I thought she wanted to play, so I just wagged my tail and barked at her. :) She isn't too happy that I am invading her home. She hides anywhere she can, but won't let me out of her sight. You can see in the picture that she is hiding under the chair and spying on me.

Even though Kitty is not too happy about me being back, I feel right at home. I knew exactly where my food and water was, and found my bed right away. Now I'm ready to sleep in Monika's big bed; hopefully Kitty will leave me alone for the night....

Life in the Sun

I sat in the sun for most of today. I guess it was pretty fun. Tom didn't go to school today, something about istep testing being for little people and dumb people only. In stead he stayed home with me and looked at books. Then he went out with his friends, so I just sat around and was bored.

I kind of miss Monkia right now. Everyone is always doing something here, so they don't always have time for me. Still, Mom made me some food, I got walked around the lake twice, and I got played with five times or so. Wow, I guess I'm kind of a handful.

Oh, something else happened today. Mom tried to put some stuff in my eyes, but I really didn't like that. She grabbed me and tried to make me look up, but I showed her! I bit her... several different times. Ha, She deserved it.

Other than that, my life was just like it usually was. I sat in the sun, I sat on the couch, and I whined until I got food. Life is good.

Another Day in the Sun

I like my life. It's so easy because I'm spoiled. But that O.K. My people have to spoil me because I'm so cute and adorable.



I guess that I didn't do too much today. I went with Dad and Mom to the airport because Dad was leaving for someplace called "Arizona" I don't know where that is, but it sounds hot so I don't want to go there. After that I made Mom play with me and walk me around the lake. That was pretty fun.

I spent most of the rest of the day sitting on my chair, soaking up the sun. Its so pretty here, it almost feels like some vacation place like Florida. I came back inside a little while ago to eat though. I ate Tilapia, which was really good. My Tom made it for me. I guess he knows how to cook now. Its funny though, I ate more of the fish than Mom did. She only had a little piece, and then had a tiny bit of salad. Its funny, my stomach is so much smaller than hers is, but I eat twice as much as she does!

I'm kind of tired now. I think I'm going to go hunt a treat, and then I'm going to go to bed!

Couldn't Sleep In The Morning

I felt restless in the morning, I had so much fun in Bloomington, I could go for walks before the sun came out, and here in South Bend nobody wants to go out with me. Well, Tom did, at 6 am, but it was cold and wet outside so I just peed and came back. But when Dad got up at 6:30 I thought that maybe it would get warmer by then, so I asked him to go out again.

Dad would not listen, so I had to beg him, I even barked at him, so he finally gave up and took me outside. Boy, it was still cold, I didn't even feel like peeing again. But the chair on the deck reminded me of the good time I had there yesterday, so I jumped on it. Dad brought me a warm fuzzy blanket, and I felt great for about a minute.

But then I realized it was still cold! So I started to ask Dad to take me back. After about 5 minutes of gentle persuasion Dad relented and did take me back to my nice, warm couch. So I will talk to you later, I think I will go back to sleep now.

By the way, did I mention I really don't like cats? Sorry Kitty. Yesterday I was playing in my backyard when the neighbor's cat came over, I chased him away as fast I could. From now on, you stay on your own deck now, ok? I'm the big boss here!

Hello!

Hi, I'm Meko, I'm 10 years old but not feeling old at all, despite my gray fur, I still like to run around and test the patience of my family. Speakings about my family, I have Mom and Dad and Tom in South Bend, Indiana, I have Monika in Bloomington, Indiana, and I have Adam, who right now studies in Krakow, Poland. I just spent a month with Monika in Bloomington, and I loved it there, I had so much fun. Now I'm back in South Bend, but I expect to travel to Bloomington often to see Monika and Kitty.

That's me on the right there. Monika just gave me a hair cut and I felt very pretty and proud, despite those silly ribbons in my ears :).

I'll try to keep you posted about what I'm up to here, hope you're as happy as I am today!
