Trip To Washington, DC

I went on a road trip! Mom, Dad and I drove all the way to Washington, DC to pick up Tom from the Presidential Classroom Forum. First we drove for 10 hours to Frederick, MD, where we stayed overnight in a Hampton Inn hotel. In the car, I just slept. In the hotel, I immediately felt just like at home. The hotel was dog friendly, they were expecting me, and I got a present! I loved it, a squeaky bone! Cool!

The chair was not as comfortable like at home

but the bed was just fine!

As soon as we unpacked, I took Mom and Dad for a walk. I love walking, especially around strange towns. Oh, the smells are everywhere!

Isn't this a lovely town!

And there were lots of other dogs walking their owners, some of these dogs were friendlier than other.

This one wasn't really that bad, but he scared me at first. Actually, Mom was more scared of his owner, who looked like he's been on drugs since morning :)

The following day we drove to Washington, DC, actually do Georgetown, to pick up Tom. We had plenty of time, so we walked some more. Here's me and Mom in front of a flowering tree at the Georgetown University campus. Spring surely comes here sooner than in South Bend!

Here's another picture of a typical Georgetown street. Pretty!

Around 11 am Tom was done and we met him in the hotel lobby.

A real adventure happened on the way back home. We drove through the Ohio blizzard of 2008. Cars were in the ditches left and right, jackknifed trucks, even overturned trucks were in the median, 20 miles stretch of I-70 was closed because of ice, visibility was nil, average speed around 10 mph. It took us 15 hours to drive from Washington to Indianapolis (about 600 miles), about 6 hours longer than expected. But then, it wasn't my problem :) I slept all that time!

I Got A Hair Cut

Yesterday I went to my friendly groomer. She made me cute. Not that I'm not cute with long hair, but with short hair I'm even cuter.

Somehow having shorter hair gives me more energy. I felt like running, jumping, barking, I chased my treat around the room, I kept tossing it in the air and running after it, all the time wagging my tail like crazy and screaming at the top of my lungs. This was so much fun!

But that wasn't enough for me. Dad and I went for a very long walk today, we walked around our lake, then around the golf course in the other neighborhood, then finished walking around around our lake. I was so tired afterwards, I just drank some water and went to sleep.

But then Mom woke me up saying she needed to take some pictures of me for Monika. Well, although I felt a little groggy (see the pictures) , I was happy to oblige. If that was for somebody else I probably would have gone on sleeping, but for Monika - anything!

I have the whole bed to myself!

This is dog's dream come true, I had the whole bed to myself. I could stretch, lay on my back, scratch, yawn, do whatever I wanted while Dad was working on his computer thingy. Only once I got up and announced I needed to pee, other than that I just slept or daydreamed, especially because the weather was not so good, it was raining, and snowing, then raining again, and it was really windy, not much fun at all. However, when the sky did not clear by the end of the day I decided enough is enough, I had to go for a walk no matter what. So Dad and I went around the lake. I came back so muddy you could say I was a brown dog, not a black and white dog. So Mom gave me a batch, which always puts me in a good mood. I feltl like running and running and barking and chasing and hiding and pouncing, then like running again. Today was no exception, I just ran in circles until I became thirsty. And then I stopped. The end.

I'm spoiled and I know it!

They just do whatever I want them to do! Take this morning, for example. I got up and I wanted breakfast. Not that I eat breakfast every day, but today I wanted to. So I shadowed Mom, and I wined, and I begged, until I got half of a whole wheat bread sandwich with Gouda cheese and Polish Krakus ham. What other dog can say that he or she ate a sandwich with ham and cheese for breakfast!

Yesterday for dinner I ate a huge chunk of baked pork loin with Japanese white rice, it was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s! And for Dad - boiled cabbage. How he could eat that I will never know...

Well, I don't have much more time to talk to you, the sun is rising, the morning is beautiful, I better take Mom and Dad for a walk, otherwise they will waste time sitting on the couch doing nothing, just like me on that picture here. Not that there is anything wrong with that when I do it!

My Third Walk Today

I watched the sun go down from my chair today. But it got cold on my chair so I started to bark. My family can't stand when I bark so immediately I got Dad's attention. He took me for my third walk today. I'm quickly learning how to get what I want. Life is good... But I still didn't get my bones. Monika always had something special for me... too bad. I kind of wish that I could go back and be with her, but I don't really like to stay alone in her place. I can't wait to see her again! I think I'm going to go to sleep now.

My Spoiled, Rich, and Happy Life

I love my life. Today I got to go on two walks, I had porks chops for lunch, and I dug big messy holes in my backyard. Now, I'm just sitting and waiting for the sun to go down. I love my rich spoiled life.

I'm such a demanding dog. First, I barked all morning because nobody wanted to pay attention to me. Eventually though, one of my people took me for a walk. When I came home I was famished, so I told them to make me food (which they did). After the meal I got kind of tired, so I sat down on the couch and went to bed.

By the time I got up, I wanted to have some fun again, so I went on another walk with Mom. She got so mad though because as soon as I came back home, I ran as fast as I could all around the house; I made sure that I got all the dirt off of my feet and onto those leather couches. Ha! She eventually caught me though because I need to get a drink of water.
