I went on a road trip! Mom, Dad and I drove all the way to Washington, DC to pick up Tom from the Presidential Classroom Forum. First we drove for 10 hours to Frederick, MD, where we stayed overnight in a Hampton Inn hotel. In the car, I just slept. In the hotel, I immediately felt just like at home. The hotel was dog friendly, they were expecting me, and I got a present! I loved it, a squeaky bone! Cool!
The chair was not as comfortable like at home
but the bed was just fine!
As soon as we unpacked, I took Mom and Dad for a walk. I love walking, especially around strange towns. Oh, the smells are everywhere!
Isn't this a lovely town!
And there were lots of other dogs walking their owners, some of these dogs were friendlier than other.
This one wasn't really that bad, but he scared me at first. Actually, Mom was more scared of his owner, who looked like he's been on drugs since morning :)
The following day we drove to Washington, DC, actually do Georgetown, to pick up Tom. We had plenty of time, so we walked some more. Here's me and Mom in front of a flowering tree at the Georgetown University campus. Spring surely comes here sooner than in South Bend!
Here's another picture of a typical Georgetown street. Pretty!
Around 11 am Tom was done and we met him in the hotel lobby.
A real adventure happened on the way back home. We drove through the Ohio blizzard of 2008. Cars were in the ditches left and right, jackknifed trucks, even overturned trucks were in the median, 20 miles stretch of I-70 was closed because of ice, visibility was nil, average speed around 10 mph. It took us 15 hours to drive from Washington to Indianapolis (about 600 miles), about 6 hours longer than expected. But then, it wasn't my problem :) I slept all that time!
